Incoming calls are sent to the operator for pickup. It appears that by default the KX-TVA50 directs this to X101. How would I change this to another extension? This would also apply if "0" were to be dialed.
Would this be accomplished by going to the keypad assignment?

That would depend on what type of KSU you're using and how it was configured at install.....not enough information to answer your question completely.
If you have the TVA picking up all calls immediately, you would need to edit keypad assignments in the applicable custom service menu....again, don't have enough information...if the operator's phone rings (to allow a person to answer) before the TVA picks up then this would not apply....setting would be within the KSU.
TA, let me answer the rest of your response. Outside calls go to an attendant. When in the day mode the TVA will not pick up the call unless not answered then it goes to a general mailbox.
KSU (key service unit) is the main control box (KX-TD1232).
There are a multitude of different ways this equipment can be set up...without being there to take a look at your configuration, I couldn't tell you exactly what you need to do.
But my guess is that your lines are DIL to extension 101...and then intercept routing is being used to direct them to the VPS after the specified intercept time. If this is correct, you'd just need to change the DIL extension....or you could even just forward x101 to whatever the desired new one is.
If none of this sounds familiar, I'd recommend getting an experienced tech in there to help you (or bail you out if you do decide to experiment with settings). If you want to tell us where you are, I'm sure someone can make a recommendation.
