I have an xtsc. There's a 30 button phone with 4 outside line appearances. This is x100. The line keys flash. - Unplugged phone and plugged back in - still flashing. - Changed keys to OPEN, unplugged phone and plugged it back in, re-added the 4 line keys, unplugged phone and plugged back in, they are flashing. - reset system with flash 80, still flashing. - You can go off hook on them from the phone and they will light solid, make calls etc., it's just that when they are idle, they flash. Have any ideas? - I'm thinking of maybe the 911 feature or call history or something. I don't know. This just started happening.

This is the only phone that this is happening on?
The flashing makes me think that the attendant disable co line funcion is on. Usually that means you can't make an outside call but I can't think of anything else (except hold) that would make the lines flash. The code is 602, Pick up the handset or press speaker dial 602 and press a line key. If this function is the cause it will quit flashing.

I was optimistic with that 602 thing - it worked while I was in programming mode, doing that. I looked through the programming. Its line 1-3 that flash 3 times, pause 3 times again etc. Line 4 does not. The only difference I could see is that lines 1-3 are in trunk group 1 while line 4 is in trunk group 2. This only happens on the one phone that is set as Attendant. I set a different phone as Attendant and the problem followed that. Its some kind of alert but I don't know for what? So, the way it is now is that I do not have an Attendant set for that system. I asked them if they dial 0 a lot and they said no. I asked if does any flash programming from her phone and she didn't know what I was talking about. So, other than having forgotten to ask if they put it in Night mode at night it seems ok for now.

Are the flashing buttons definately line keys? The only thing that makes buttons flash like that is ringing....lines disabled, or staion DSS keys with the staion in DND.

I definitely should bring a user guide home, but to check the button programming, you can lift the handset and press [Speed] [7] [#]. Then the display will show [2] for keys/buttons. Press [2] and then press the buttons you want to check.

I think its settled with me having gotten rid of the attendant. They only have four lines, each phone has the 4 keys with the line number written on the paper below it. I do occasionally have line 1 lock up and can't get it back until I reset the system. So, it may really need to be defaulted and have an old back up reinstalled or hand packed... Thanks for your help though.

Line lockups can be caused by the provider failing to deliver a loop disconnect signal. It can be very obvious with many voice mail systems not releasing immediately after a caller hangs up.

So, I encountered this issue today on an XTS and wanted to put the resolution here for future people looking up this issue, because I couldn't find it anywhere else.
Symptoms: - CO keys in Line Group 1 blinking when not in use. Lines in other line groups not blinking. - Happening only on x100 (attendant phone) - Stopped when turning attendant off for x100 [FLASH] [1][0]
Reason: Attendant Off-Net Forward Turned On
Fix: From x100:
603+Line Group Access Code+#
Dial [6][0][3] + [9] + [#]

Thanks, that's the feature that came to me today as I was re-reading the earlier posts before I came to yours. I did have a customer who used that feature once upon a time but I had forgotten it in my earlier responses.
