I am considering to start training for ccna with possible ccna voice branch. I got a router and a switch online, I would like to encase the equipment into a desktop rack about 3-4 feet in height. I've seen some that look decent around 50-60 bucks on ebay, there some around 30, but those make me question its quality and its support for the weight of the equipment. Both types of racks are being claimed top be used in Cisco home labs and "professional" music/audio equipment.

Any advise on this?

Thanks

2-post or 4-post rack?

4-post probably would be an overkill, but it will be a much better choice and sturdier rack.

I would go with something from a reputable retailer than eBay. Too many Chinese knockoffs that send you ones with stripped out mounting holes.

Something like this:

I have one similar to this:

Meant for music gear, but a 19" rack is a 19" rack.

You could always get a Gator or SKB case from Guitar Center or Sam Ash.

Jeff,

Last time I've been at Guitar Center a while ago, I wasn't greatly impressed with their prices.
