These Brother printers are new to this side of cable labeling. I have used a pt2610 for years and recently purchased the Rhino 6000 Hard Case. I went with it because of it's long history and the various type of labels available. The Brother I believe still uses the TZ series of laminated labels that I have found to not last very long (talking a couple of months) before delaminating.
To answer your question, I not 100% sure, but I believe they can print long labels for patch panels, but you have to format them yourself. The Rhino series has been around long enough that most Patch Panel manufacturers supply a template for their Patch Panels which makes creating a label very easy.
If you're looking at buying a specialty printer like these, Check out www.labelcity.com. They have a wide assortment of manufacturers and some very competitive pricing (Note- I'm not affiliated with them)
