I just hooked up a DSS to my phone, but it did not work. I am sure the problem is in the programming, but I can't find where. I know the system works because I tool it to another station where a DSS was hooked up and it came up fine.
Where in the programming for 9.1 do you go to activate a DSS hooked up to your phone?

Connect to the PBX and go to System\Devices and Feature Codes\Stations\Specific Station. Click on 'Attached Device' and make the value 'DSS'. Unplug fone, replug fone.

Get coffee.
