hoping someone here has experience with this...
We have installed the SV8100 for a while and have just picked up the SL1100 as well. I have an opportunity for a 40 phone system but they also need 29 outside "traveling" employees to use the uMobility app over regular cell 3G/4G data network. Apparently this can be done using NAT and some firewall/router configurations without the need for a server or Session Board Controller.
I want to quote the SL1100 with 29 uMobility licenses but I am a bit hesitant on how it would actually work in practice...anybody doing anything like this now? Any advice?

Thanks,
Timbo

I would look at Voip Resorces use by the system, there only 32, so if using Sip trunks it would be tight.

Mobil extension might be best.

Why wouldn't you use the 8100?

We will not be using SIP trunks and most likely will have the client move to a PRI Brokeda...good point for consideration though.

DN27 - we have been losing deals to a couple of local competitors on price with the 8100 so we want to be a little more competitive price-wise...no other reason. This prospect is getting a quote from at least one of these competitors that I'm aware of...I know you can't sell on price but the other competitor is good too and the lower price on the SL1100 just might even the playing field a bit for us...

I was hoping to see if anyone has had experience with the uMobilty app being used over the cellular data network (using NAT) to see what kind of call quality we might be able to expect...

If they are only buying on price you are in trouble right there especially when you are dealing with data integration.

Coral Tech, not sure if I'm reading your post right... are you suggesting the SL100 is not a good choice compared to the SV8100? We have not installed one yet so this is a serious question....
I know the 8100/8300 is more of an Enterprise class system and can be depended upon for just about any installation but is there some inferiority or performance issues with the SL1100 we should be aware of for smaller installations? Not trying to be a smart alleck...we just have no experience with the SL yet and I don't want to start installing them is there are issues...

Sorry fot the above post...I realize it should probably be in the installer forum...if anyone has any specifics please just PM them to me instead of posting a reply here...

Thanks,

Ok, tech to tech, ANY time you push your capacity to almost 100% on an install it's not a good thing. IMHO, yes, the SV8100 is a better phone system but it's all relative to what you are trying to accomplish and what the application is. The only glaring things I see are capability (and capacity) and phone instruments themselves. The SV8100 phones are outstanding and I mean throughout every system I have seen in the marketplace. I simply wouldn't gimp the customer if the numbers (size wise) are that close.
