Is it possible to use SSL SMTP with the Axxess switch? We are running 10.001. I don't see anywhere to select SSL (or change the port to 465) but I thought the setting is somewhere else in DBStudio.

I've never done this on V.10, but I can tell you that POP/SMTP delivery of Level I UM through the AxxessoryTalk is often flakey at best. By far the most reliable and fastest delivery is to select the MAPI option. You then set up Outlook and essentially what happens is that the AT hands off the email to Outlook, then Outlook sends the message to your SMTP server over whatever protocol you wish.
This isn't as complicated as it sounds, but if you're not familiar with the system you'd be much better off to hire a tech to set it up for you. You can probably even work a deal with one of the Inter-Tel Moderators to program it remotely for you.

To my knowledge SSL is loosly supported for email reader but that is about it. I believe it only supports clear text logins and does not support any type of credential encryption (Base64 for example). I believe that there is a planned future release to support this but I am not sure if it has been released yet. If you have Enterprise Messaging there is no MAPI support, for UM clients they use IMAP4 (UM OSE). Inbound fax is done via SMTP from the Enterprise Messaging server which has it's own SMTP engine. The only VM platform that uses MAPI is the VPU which has been EOL'd

Thanks for all the responses guys. I guess I should have been more specific (rereading my question I realized how vauge I was)
Right now we have UM and use the Outlook client (it sucks). I did read somewhere about using IMAP for UM instead of the client but information on this has been hard to find.
I was specifically looking to use SSL SMTP to send incoming faxes out to your users. This sounds like I can't do it if EM uses its on SMTP engine so I'll just leave things be.
Not to stray too far off subject but does anyone have any info on enabling UM over IMAP instead of using the UM client (horribly unreliable)

Your EM must be on 1.1.43 and I think that there is a an UM OSE license
