I have a customer with a couple AT&T 1080 4 line phones. They are only using 1 phone line. They would like to setup some paging into a small workshop area. The Valcom V-9941A Talk Back paging controller can connect to a CO Trunk Port on a PBX/Key System. My question is this, could I hook that unit up to one of the unused lines on the AT&T 1080 phone and page out into the shop. I have talked with Valcom support and they don't have a solid answer for me either way. If anyone has any experience or thought on this I am open to suggestions.

There is an easy way to test. Hook up a butt set to the T&R of the Valcom and hook a speaker to the output. If you can page, then it works.
I have used the Valcom units on various dry CO ports and it worked.
