I am trying to get tapit to communicate with an Intertel Axxess 9.0 system. I have gotten it to work twice before, but this one is being a bugger.
I have my SMDR settings set up in Maintenance and IP settings set up (I can log into the system via the network, ping it, etc.) but the Trisys IP collector does not connect (it connects then disconnects).
What am I missing here. Help would be appreciated.

I just started a new job, and the old IT guy it apears ruined any links which were working with smdr and tapit. I have tried many settings and configurations to try to get it to work and have been unsuccessful.
SMDR COM3 9600/8/none/1 & RTS/CTS with a check in Autowrap.
All I get across the screen is. â â â â â â â â â â â â continuously.
I have also tried hypertermal and cannot get anything to come across the screen with it either.
Do both Tapit and SMDR Monitor32 need to be running?
Thanks for any help with this. Guy

Yes they have to run at the time. SMDR Monitor32 is the serial connection cature portion. Tapit is the records manager.

Sounds like SMDR is not activated under sockets.

I believe the COM1 port on that particular machine is bad and I am trying to run it through a USB 2 COM adapter. The Mitel techs who have come out seem to get thiers to work. I did get it to work on another server, which also points towards the COM port on the original machine as being bad.
Has anyone had any luck with generic usb2com port adapters?
Thank you, Guy

No usb to com for the axxess system but I have a couple in use for serial gps antennas and touch screens and have been able to assign com port numbers, though I would think a new card a cleaner solution.
