I moved a partner for a doctor's office to its new location. When I took it off the wall at the old location it had been working up till that point. Now that it's at its new location I get nothing.

Any ideas? The owner is ready to buy a new system since this one is circa 1999, but I didn't do this as a sales tactic.

It has a second card which is only used for two trunks. I've already disconnected everything from it and tried powering it up. I get no power indication, although the green led was lit when it was still in its former location.

It could be that the power supply died of old age after cooling off while unplugged during the move. I trust you checked the outlet at the new location. smile Been burned before.

Yes. Checked that. Ok, just seemed odd that the move killed it but I guess stranger things have happened.

Good news is, the customer will get a system from this century now.

Thanks for the response.

There are replacement power supplies available for Partner modules. I would probably go that route for an otherwise working R6 through R8. Anything older than that would be a candidate for an outright replacement.

If its in a carrier you might have to reseat the cards if its a ACS try the powercord directly into the processor
If its a partner 11 you need the 206 module

Try skips suggestion, if you haven't already. Just replaced one a few weeks ago and took 2 reseats before it came up. It was an older carrier.

I always warn customers that there is no guarantee after moving old equipment. you can be super careful, but it's prone to failure once you take it off the wall.

Old Partner systems have done that more then you would think, You could upgrade them to a ACS as suggested and you would be fine, do yourself a favor and get a new 5 slot as well.
