I noticed today that I was receiving some voice messages that weren't for me. When I went to log into the voice mail box I first noticed that it wasn't the same mail box number as my extension. Because of that I am getting messages for another person in the building.
Is there somewhere in the interface that I can go to that will show a list of phone extensions and voice mail boxes to have them swapped or changed? I'd like to think that there is something that can be done to change them, or perhaps a phone "code" to allocate a certain mail box to a certain extension or phone.

Do you have system programming access? And, what type of voicemail is the system using? Do you access the phone voicemail from the softkey for VM, or is there a button programmed on the phone to take you to Voice Mail?
If you can provide that info, you can probably get help with this - but you do need to be able to get into the UX5000 programming, and you should be familiar with it. Otherwise, your best bet is to find a certified NEC dealer to do this.

Yeah, I have access to the system configuration. There is just a lot of content int here and I'm not sure where to look for my specific issue, or if there is a function in the interface that will allow me to adjust voice mail boxes easily like I can with extensions.

Which voicemail package are you using? And, do you access VM with a softkey - or a programmable function key?

I believe its called UXMAIL.
I'm not sure I know the difference between a softkey and a programmable function key, but if it helps we use 12 button phones, where the last key; voicemail, is set to everyone's phone.
Edit: I just figured this one out.
Putting out steps just in case someone else stumbles upon this.
Erase current function on phone: 1. [CALL1] + 851 2. Hit Function key to delete 3. 00 (code to delete)
Then to program the erased function key with proper voice mail box:
1. [CALL1] + 851 2. Hit Function Key 3. 77 + ext. of voice mail box
Good to go.
Thanks for your time and reply Toolie.

If it it UXMail it has it's own blade in the system - if it's Intramail, it is a card plugged into the processor slot.
It sounds like someone has programmed the phones with a progammeable function key (in this case button 12) that takes the user to Voice Mail. The data field on the key tell the system which mailbox to go to - and this should normally match the extension number of the phone.
I suspect that on your phone - the data field got changed to someone elses mailbox.
If you press the CHECK button on your phone - and then that key - it will display how it's programmed. Then you will know for sure.
