I have an Intertel 5000 system, 2.1.0.13. Recently, two of my customer service people started getting IC calls from extension 543. When I looked it up in DB Studio / System /Devices and Feature Codes / Endpoints, it just says "single line".

I read the help file and it says they're a backup for if the power is cut to the phone system. Makes sense, since we can still have two simultaneous calls when power has been down in the past.

But why the IC calls? I obviously need these ports but how do I stop the calls to them? This has been going on for 2 weeks and I was just advised recently.

From my description, I'm sure you can tell, I'm a novice with phone systems but I will give you any information I can to get this resolved. Thank you.

Does x543 have any settings in House Phone Day or House Phone Night? Is x543 calling the same extension every time or is it completely random?

Hi Stix1, thank you for replying so quickly.

I don't see House Phone Day or Night but I do see Class of Service Day / Night and they are blank.

There are at least two extensions receiving the calls, the other person who might be getting them is in a meeting right now.

I noticed in Associated Extensions, the Attendant is a Hunt Group that both of these people are a member of though.

When you are in Database Programming, navigate on the right pane instead of the left pane. Then you will see the House Phone settings.

I apologize, I see it now. House Phone is set to No and House Phone Day and Night both have a red X on their icons with no values.

Is there any way for you to determine what x543 is hooked up to? What happens when you call x543?

When I called, I got "EXT is Busy" and then a farting noise and then disconnected. I was just advised that another employee had renumbered this, it was originally 541 and he changed it to 543.

I changed it back to 541 but still get the same result.

In System / Communication Server / Digital Expansion Interface, this is not mapped to any port.

But it is in System / Communication Server / Single Line Ports along with 542. When I call 542, it just says Call Ringing for 542, and I walked the office and hear no ringing at any extension.

They both have the same settings in Endpoints.

I narrowed down the problem further (but not necessarily a good solution)

The Attendant setting for 541 and 542 was the same - hunt group 2030. The two people getting the IC calls are in this hunt group, the one person not getting the calls is not in this group.

I changed the Attendant to NONE for the time being, to see if the calls stop. My concern though is if I do lose power, these lines won't work until I put the settings back, which starts the IC problem again.

Any suggestions?
