I have a customer with an ECS v8.x that wants to replace their current programming PC with a new server, which would run Windows Server 2012. This server will host Iwatsu Programmer, VMI Gateway, and VMI System Editor along with their security camera monitoring software.
My question is - are Iwatsu Programmer, VMI Editor, and VMI Gateway all supported on Windows Server 2012? I cannot find updated compatibility information for them and their IT guy is ready to order equipment.
Thank you for your help, in advance!

The VMI gateway software is definitely not supported on anything BUT windows XP. Ran into that a few months ago. The Omega Voice VMI edititor should work on that machine, and the most recent ECS programmer should work on that software. The hangup your going to have is the VMI gateway. So if you have to put a XP load on a box somewhere, you might as well load the other software on the box also.

Iwatsu/ICON is no longer supporting VMI Gateway because XP is no longer being supported. The other , more important programs IMHO are still supported and work at least up to Windows 7

Thanks for the responses guys. I did attempt to get VMI Gateway working on a Windows Server (manual states compatibility with Server 2003), and after it failed I fired it up again on the XP computer. However, now it will not work on the XP machine either.
I click the enable EVMC button, and am prompted to restart the card... however, no gateway service is ever restored whether I reboot the card through software or do a hardware restart.
Is there a troubleshooting guide available for VMI Gateway, or do you know of specific resolutions for this kind of issue?
Thanks again, in advance!

I am revisiting this thread because until now my customer has been operating off the old PC for System Programmer. Now that PC no longer functions and I need to set up access through the new PC, which is NOT Windows Server 2012. We changed it to a Windows 7 machine.
PROBLEM: I do not know the default login for Iwatsu Programmer (assuming it is at default). Will someone please send me the default login, or tell me how I might discover the current password? Thanks for your help.

Thank you JBean. I think my tech already tried that with no success but I will confirm. If that does not work, is there a way to discover the information through a phone menu, or even arranging a support call with Iwatsu?

As far as I can tell, the programmer pass word lives in the switch somewhere that's pretty well hidden.
I had a customer data base that had a pass word change once, and the last resort thing I did was to default the switch, connect with the programmer with default settings, then upload a copy of the data base. Do this ONLY if you have a good copy to upload to the switch.
A support call could be pretty expensive, and might only be heard if your vendor has support arrangements. You'll probably be told to default the switch in any case.
