Anyone run across this before?
It is a complex set up between two sites and SIP trunks and such. But the Crosstalk can happen within the same site.
Yes I know everything is vague. My question is simply if anyone has ran across the Crosstalk issue before and what they did to correct this.
I already played with DSP resources and that did not fix the issue.

What is the software level? Does it happen between stations at the same site? Between trunks and stations at the same site? Does it happen with analog trunks?
I suggest if it is not the latest, update it before moving on.

recently updated to 9.5 from a version 5.x to correct the issue.Still exist.
They have heard mainly touch tones. usually just the extension hears it and not the person the extension is talking to.
Has happened on extension to extension calls.
Unable to determine the source, but likely another extension.
They are 100% SIP trunks.

IP phones? If so, are they flashed to the latest version?

I agree with 'helpifican' in that you want to make sure that every piece of NEC equipment is at the latest version. Based on description of issue, it's most likely not SIP trunk related. I would check the following: 1. Compression setup-what is in place now? 2. QOS on the local network-Is QOS setup in the 8100? 3. Check echo cancellation settings in the 8100-check to see if the settings are all at default values. 4. Is the local network segmented- VLAN or seperate network for voice.

No ip phones. They are actually Aspire phones. There is another system setup through the h.323 system interconnect. The crosstalk appears to have arisen shortly after going from 10 to 21 Sip trunks. Also the system is intermittently bombarded with 1000 plus phone calls/hour. Seemed to started shortly after the first bombardment. No it is a malicious attack just too many people calling for a new program. This is a non profit. As such they have let the Nec support lapse.

How big is the Media Gateway card? Also I would check your UDP port forwarding to the gateway to make sure you aren't overlapping incoming traffic on gateway channels.

Good thought on the size. It is a 32A. Which should be enough. I will have to double Check the UDP ports though. Another good thought. Thanks
