I’ve connected a DSS console and paired it with extension 101 in program 30-02. Feature and Specs book mentions 10-03-01, but I don’t understand it. What should I be doing with this to make the console work? Thanks.

Is the DSS also attached to a digital port? The DSS on an SL1100 uses one of the digital ports just like a digital phone.

As far as 10-03-01, I am not connected to an SL1100, but that "usually" is the area in programming that only has to be addressed to reset something you've already attached to a port. In other words, if the only thing you've attached to a specific port is what actually goes there, 10-03-01 "should be" correctly populated with the correct device. Now, if you previously attached a phone to a port you intend to use for the DSS, just unplug "whatever" from that port, "zero" that entry out and re-attach the DSS so it then can be properly detected.

Try to follow below steps:
- Connect DSS console to an Extension Port (if 101 is digital phone)
- Check PRG 10-03 - HBIU configuration Setup if SL1000 detects that port is connected to DSS console
- PRG 30-02 - Extension connected to DSS console: 101
- PRG 30-03 (optional) - assign key feature for DSS
Hope this work

Got it to work after poking it for a while. After assigning the pair in 30-02, it seems to need the multiline set plugged in first, then the DSS.

And I still don't see anything in 10-03 that mentions a DSS. But it's working, so I'll let it be.

Thanks for the suggestions.

The only thing to do in 10-03 ESI (Channel 1) Config is set the Terminal Type for DSS instead of MLT if the system doesn't automatically catch it and config it.
