You guys have been a huge help (thanks!). I have another rookie questions. I have a WE 2830 coming and would like to connect it to my 551b. From what I gather, the A1 leads excluding orange/white are used for other A leads for the extra lines. Should I disconnect the extra A1 leads even if they won't be used? Is there anything else that I'm missing? I don't want to let the "magic smoke" out Thanks, Mike

It won't hurt anything if you leave the derived A leads for lines 6-9 connected to A1. You'll only need to disconnect them if you're going to put line assignments on these positions.
