All the 500 series phones will take s headset
The 543 has a jack so you can connect a plantronic cordless headset without the lifter unit
Any headset with a 5 mm jack will work but I prefer the plantronic units

We are also using the Plantronics cordless with the new electronic hookswitch cable. Works very nice and you can even send ringing to the headset but you have to use tone call instead of voice call or auto answer.
Do the job right the first time.
