We've noticed we can't remotely view the VM Activity Log in DM on systems >v4.60b, or successfully download a backup. Talking embedded VM here. The error is "Can not find file" - the same as what you get if you haven't set up the Management IP White List. We have added both our external and LAN IPs to the white list, as well as the onsite LAN. It works when connected onsite. For the backups, it fails silently (usually you expect a "Success" or failure message), and gives you a 0 byte file. We're using DM 4.81 and have tried it from multiple environments and WAN links with the same results. We have port 21 forwarded to the PABX (we use a different external port and translate it).

I'm curious if anyone else has this problem? Support here told us that you aren't supposed to be able to do this remotely, but we can on systems up to v4.60b, so why would there be a change?

The redirected ftp port is your issue.
Samsung doesn't support this at the moment. It's planned for the next software release (4.9x)

Tech support should've told you this...

I have the same issue when trying to view anything in VMAA on a 7200 v4.82 Its ok when on site but not remotely. I have other systems that are fine at this sw level not withstanding the Activity log.

Make sure you have the FTP port forwarded.

If running >=4.65 you will need to make sure your ip is in the management ip whitelist.
