Hey Chris, In one of the posts, the OP mentions having the 944's ringer turned off. I interpret that to mean that the 944 is connected and functioning. The 944 would be injecting some amount of noise on the line. The Cortelco may simply be sensitive to the 944's signal. But that is just a guess on my part. I would be curious go find out what happens if the OP unplugs the 944 and tries again...assuming that my interpretation about the status of the 944 is correct.

I didn't even know what the 944 was, but you make a good point. The other thing that just occurred to me is he said they are all connected with silver satin cords. The effect of those in picking up interference is cumulative. That could also be an issue.

The AT&T 924 appears to be a stand alone 4 line telephone. Also long discontinued, it may be available on eBay. 1 online retailer (buymebuyme.com) has 3 open box examples available for purchase.

You could try putting a DSL filter wherever the Cortelco phones are plugged in. See if that gets rid of the noise. Like Paul suggested, try isolating the AT&T phone from the line and see if the noise goes away.

I reread the OP again for the third time and noted that the problem is clicking. This could still point to the 944, although it's signal is more of a whine.
