We have an account with SMT phones off a 7200s v4.63 where the SMTs often do not ring or just one 'blip'.
They are over a remote office wan-to-wan. ITP 21-button phones work and ring fine. Just the SMTs have this added feature.
Anyone know of a fix? Have changed ring tone, pattern, to no avail - phone still processes the call fine, it continues to flash the call button and caller ID is shown, but ringing simply stops.
50% of the time the ringing works fine.

Sounds like a MPS/RTG issue.
You will have to do a wireshark trace at both ends to see what's being send vs what's being received.
Is there a firewall between the wan links?

Yes. Netgears on both ends. 318g at remote site -- but put an SMT direct onto the public wan and it still did the blip thing.

What ports did you forward when you put the phone on the wan?

All the required ports are forwarded, we have done hundreds.
ITP 21b phones do not have the blip-ringing issues, only the SMTs.

An easy way to troubleshoot wan connection issues...plug the IP phone into the LAN local to the system. If the phone still blips it has nothing to do with the Internet, WAN, Firewalls, etc..
just a thought...

Yes we did that - plugged an SMT right into the WAN/Comcast modem direct set to the static/public IP - same blip or no audio 50% of the time.
