I have a customer with an iDCS 50 who has standard POTS lines coming in and the voice path appears to be dropping on these calls. They have digital phones so it's nothing IP related. They will be talking on the phone with a customer and then the customers won't be able to hear them for a few seconds and then they are back. My customer can hear the callers the entire time. Any ideas on where I should look on this?

One line all lines?
If you say one line I would swap 2 lines around and see where the problem goes or if it stays on the same CO port.If you say all lines and they are POTS then I would try to swap a CO card.

It is happening on all the lines, so I will go ahead and swap the CO card. I will post back if this fixes the issue.

I have found the 50 didn't have near the power supply problems the iDCS100 or 616 has. But if that is the problem,I have found the system will do a reset .In fact I just replaced a 616 power supply 2 days ago where the customer complained when a second call came in the system would reset itself.

It is happening on all the lines, so I will go ahead and swap the CO card. I will post back if this fixes the issue. You may want to take notes on the programming before power cycling that 50. Chances are the supercap on the MEM board is dead or very close to it and you'll be reprogramming the system.

Just an update, replacing that board did not fix the issue. I am going to go back to the phone company side of things and try and make sure the issue isn't on their end. Thanks for the input guys, if it isn't the CO then I will be upgrading them.
