I got this online, it just needed a good cleaning and some new line lamps...

Can you guys recommend anything to get the tape off without scratching the case of the phone?

I think I should have been more clear--it's not the tape residue that's the problem, it's the tape itself. Do you guys know of anything that is safe to scrape the tape off without scratching the case of the phone?

I have a plastic scraper that I use. Once the sticker is saturated, you should be able to gently scrape the sticker and the residue off. My scraper is more for body work, but any type of plastic scraper should work, even an old credit card.

I would run all of the plastics through the dish washer first to see how much comes off that way. You'd be surprised.

The tape won't saturate like a sticker I would soak a paper towel with WD 40 put it over the tape let it soak then use a fingernail nunder a tape edge to peel it off then you can work on the residue

podor: I suppose I could give my old debit card a try.

Ed: Unfortunately I don't have a dishwasher here in the barracks.

Skip: I think I'll go for that. The residue is no problem, I have a box of those Magic Erasers that work wonders for scuffs, sticker residue, and office funk.

Thanks guys!

P.S. By chance, does anyone have a keystrip with an AMP connector that I could install and "max" out the phone with? I don't really care for the look of the yellowed plastic insert.

Scott

a hair dryer or heat gun might work to soften the tape enough to pull it off if you do use a heat gun be careful not to get it too hot
