I have a non-profit customer, who's moving into a building that already has a Vodavi Triad-s that they want to re-use. All of the phones show in the displays "DKTU24-D GSPD V2.08" and don't do anything else. Does this mean that the system is at default or the CPU is bad? Or something else entirely. I've worked on Vodavis before, but not this particular switch

It may just have a dead memory battery that needs to be replaced. However, that thing is old and should be replaced.

I agree 100%, kinda tryin to find an excuse to not install it, but they're a non-profit org and don't have a lot of money

Well, you can always replace the memory retention battery and re-program. The system is fairly easy to program since it is fairly limited with regard to functionality.

First thing is to check the system and make sure it functions. If it can't be initialized then no sense in replacing the battery. I would move the DBA dip switch to the default position, power cycle the system and make sure that the phones come up. If they do then you can replace the battery and your non-profit will have an old but hopefully decent system until they can afford to replace it.
