That would be great if you could use the one MSG button for both personal messages and a group message, but the CIX has never worked liked that, and probably never will. When any voicemail system (even the app server) turns on a message like for an extension (their Priamry DN), it just tells the phone to call back to the voicemail system. It does not pass along the mailbox information as well.

For group messages you still need to assign phantoms, assign owners to the phantoms, create Phantom MWI buttons, and put the phantom DN in the additional MWI for the group mailbox.

For companies that have a Strata Messaging or IPEdge app server, I have started to use Cascading Messages. A group message is linked to people's personal mailbox. Any user in the group will just log into their personal voice mail to check the group message. When any user listens to the message, all the other message lights for all other user's will clear. Everyone else will know that the message has already been heard.
