Hey, guys! Recently added a Type 3 monophone to my collection, and I'm having trouble getting it to work. I think the condenser is probably NG, but that's the least of my worries. I need a wiring diagram for this thing and there doesn't seem to be much on the web about it. Also the dial is missing some parts, so I know I need to find a new dial for it already. For informational purposes, it is a Type 3, central battery, with the induction coil in the box, not the one with the induction coil in the receiver. I'll try to post a pic soon.

OK, TCI had a diagram that was close enough to get me going. Turns out the condenser is fine and the phone works pretty good, except I need a dial. The little follower for the pulsing contacts is missing, so it can't open the contacts to dial, not to mention the dashpot or whatever you call the thing that regulates the speed of return is worn out and it returns as fast as the spring can whip it back. Any leads on a new dial PN .D.84729 -A or equivalent would be helpful. Thanks!

Contact Steve Hiltz, at VTS Industrial
https://navysalvage.com/dialrepair.html

He can take your dial in for repair, or get you a replacement, or get you the parts you need to repair it yourself.

Good to hear, Chris. I haven't seen Steve Hiltz for years, and don't think he'd remember me, but I know he's got a ton of good stuff and parts for most anything.

I mentioned you sent me to him, but he didn't seem to remember. Of course I don't know your last name, so he may have been thrown off when I used your screen name. Either way, he was a great help. Now I just have to find a place to mount this unique old phone.
