Good day all. I am new to the forums and have been tasked with making a change to an SX-200 which involves re-routing the main number from an auto-attendant to the operator console (whatever that extension may be). I am a certified Mitel technician on the 3300, 5000 (MiVoice Business & Office) among other systems so I'm confident that I could navigate the forms and determine that information, but thus far, I am unable to access the system remotely via modem. Could someone please confirm the settings? I do get a modem tone and attempted handshake, but nothing further. Currently I have attempted with Putty & Hyperterminal. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hyperterminal will work also. Steve's post is right on the money for settings. You will also need user name and password.

The forms you will need are either 14 or 15, depending if the trunks are DID, PRI or standard POTS lines. Form 7 should reveal the console prime number.

when you get into the system and get connected, hit the return key about 4 quick times to get to the main screen (this does an autobaud)then your username and password then Then go to form 8, I would route the calls to a key, say key 3 with a directory number of 7903 as an example then you can under "Label" label what you want the call to show on an incoming call, maybe the company name. You will probably see others in there like intercept or dial 0 etc. Then depending on the trunking as Rcaman has outlined you can route to the LDN you have created, you may also use form 55 depending on the type and software of your 200
Steve's setting is what I use also

Thank you all for the information thus far. I can now complete a handshake but I either end up with foreign characters or a screen that asks me to select an emulation mode (1, 2, or 3) at which point everything freezes. I can't find ProComm to download so I am stuck using hyperterminal and/or Indigo. If anyone is willing and can PM me, I would be willing to provide access to the system (via modem) and compensate via paypal or other means. Any help would be forever remembered!!!

All calls need to route to the operator console instead of the auto attendant if that simplifies things.

Okay...so it was my impatience. I'm now waiting for the client to provide me with the password (defaults don't work). In the interim, is there not a simple way with the 200 to route all calls to a specific extension (the operator console)? It's been 8 years since I've looked at one of these so my apologies.

Oh...And thank you all for your insight! I am surprised to see so many responses on the sx-200. The client does not know the password and as mentioned, it is no longer at default. Am I correct that the only way to reset would be to default and then rebuild the database?

NO! All that is needed is for you to contact Mitel and tell them the situation. Mitel will ask that the owner send them a written request to default the password. They will also want the name of the dealer of record that installed the system to make sure there are no outstanding amounts due.

Once that is accomplished, you will have access to the programming.

Calls can be rerouted via the Attendant Console from the Attendant options at the console. Press function, Attendant and enter the password. That password should be known.
