I have a request from a client that I have never encountered before. I am hoping that somebody on the forum might be able to steer me in the right direction.
We have just installed a TDA50 / TVA50 combination as a replacement to an older Toshiba system. As the main greeting in auto-attendant mode, it has been requested that we provide a short musical clip, which we have as a wav file on our programming laptop. After the short musical intro, they want the spoken greeting (with the voice of one of their employees).
I have called Panasonic tech support for advice, and was only told that it can be done, but it is a proprietary file type. Tech support pretty much wished me luck and sent me on my way.
The client really wants this feature, but does not want to settle for me just playing the audio into a phone and recording.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Patrick

That will work fine.
Use laptop mic on console.
Sounds dumb. If I was answered w/music I would hang up and call a real company.

Let me borrow a phrase from the 60's. Don't try to convert the bus driver if you're only taking the bus once.

Farm it out, or get really familiar with Goldwave and Message Studio 5.0. It's no different than MOH, except you convert the finished product to a 4Khz mono wav file for the Panasonic VM, and you're only blending one message over the music bed.

Here's an example https://public.carl.airpost.net/MOH2/MOH_AS_Excerpt.mp3

This was done with paid-for talent and licensed music. Now, when the customer calls, it is a source of revenue as I don't have anything in it but my time.

Carl
