Here's an interesting problem...

Several front office phones are in a terminal hunt group which the automated attendant transfers calls to when you press "0". Why terminal? The office staff didn't want all the phones ringing all the time.

This is working well, but the staff wants a way to tell when if the call ringing at their station is from the hunt group, or one going directly to their station (ie the caller dialed their extension in the auto attendant).

I didn't see a way to have the different hunt groups have a distinctive ring. Both types of calls come in on a PRI so I don't think setting a ring type on the line will help.

If they were willing to let all the phones ring at once I would set up a group intercom button.

Is there something I'm overlooking?

Thanks!

I never had a problem giving the hunt group DID a distinctive ring and leaving their intercom/personal calls a standard ring. Customers picked up on that fairly quickly.

Where do you assign the distinctive ring? I don't see any place to do it on the hunt group. I should have mentioned this is an FXT-224 running 16A software.

The front office phones don't have personal DIDs. All callers are dialing the main number which goes to the automated attendant and either pressing "0" or entering an extension.
