Been having some customers report that their CIX system has locked up. So far has been CIX40 and CIX100. During this lockup, the phones have display, but no button functionality, no dial tone, and time and date is frozen. Have to power down and up to restore operation. The common link between these customers is that their processors and MIPU's are connected to the internet with static public IP's.

Suspect attempted hacking or port sniffing is causing the processor to lock up. Anybody else with similar problems?

Got hit with a rash of them this week. Same scenario as you, 40's and 100's with static IP addresses. Tech support says it is a DOS attack and that the CIX has a watchdog buffer in it that shuts the system down.

We have started to have the IT Vendors for our clients lock down the IP address, to only accept remote access from our office.

In our case it was the processors that they were hitting.

So how did you go about getting the ISP (my customer has Charter) to lock down the public IPs ?
