MX controller, 5.0.2.12 software, embedded voice mail. 1 digital set had to delete her mailbox for some reason (using form 50). The mailbox returns to default, default password etc, and she can record her name, greeting, and so on. When her extension is called out of the auto attendant her name is played before the transfer, but her greeting is not played, instead you get "I'm sorry, that person is unavailable at this time"(canned). Then tone to leave message, and messages can be retrieved. She has the ability to hear her greeting in set-up as well. Apparently she doesn't have it set for alternate greeting either. I'm stumped.

Her mailbox is set to play the System Greeting, not her Primary Greeting. She needs to log into her mailbox, go into personal options and "SELECT" the Primary Greeting.

She doesn't have that option. Only to record an alternate greeting, and for what days does she want to play it.

what happens if you call her internally? if you can call internally and it works is there some kind of a restriction between the user and voicemail or trunking, like a tenant restriction? Is the user the same tenant and cos/cor as a user that does work?

Same for internal. All same tenant. I had her change her extension even, and build a new mailbox. Default. Same thing, she can replay her greeting in set-up, but it doesn't play when called. On a separate note, the aa is set up for supervised transfer. I don't remember changing that.

Got that fixed. The problem just started when she deleted her mailbox and re-built it because it wasn't playing the greeting. And it still doesn't. Yesterday she set up a new employee's mailbox and the greeting played. Today it doesn't.

unless any other ideas, but almost to the point where you delete the mailbox, reboot the pbx and then program the mailbox again

I'd make sure you have a good backup before you re-boot. I think you're looking at a hard drive that's about to fail!
