So while driving today, I spotted an object that looked like a punchdown tool. I pullled over and indeed it was a Fluke D914 with 66 and 110 cut blades, the hook was broken off though. I was thinking maybe drilling out the aluminum rivets and replace a hook if such were available for sale as replacement on the very cheap, if not I can just throw it in a toolbox as a spare. It also looked like the punchdown tool might of spent some time in water as it has rust spots.

Also, I was wondering what discoveries have you made as far as tools go on the job site or just laying on the pavement while driving by??

I once found a slotted screwdriver with an exceptionally long blade shaft. I took it to work and left it there when my position was eliminated.

What a bummer, there is always a use for a long shafted scredriver be it reach into a tight places or use it as a lever in some instances.

Does this include my own tools that I've previously lost, then found on a return trip?

I found a Milwaukee cordless impact gun on the road once. Also found a nice needle nose with an extra long reach above a suspended ceiling. But . . . I also left a nice staple gun somewhere. Did anyone find it?

Check to see if that punch tool qualifies for their lifetime warranty! I've tools with broken springs and one with a shattered casing replaced for free.

I've found several small tools, but my buddy lucked out BIG time. He is a contractor and found beside the road one of those machines that are used to bend and shape aluminum siding etc. Must have fallen off another contractor's truck. Worth about $1000.

He watch all the local papers for a couple of weeks and no-one reported it as lost.

A pair of exceptionally good Pump pliers with the High Dielectric coating on the handles. The HD coating looked like Klein (I had the same coating on my Linesman's) and the pliers were Klein quality but Klein didn't offer the coating on pump pliers. There was also no name on them and I never saw a picture of them in any catalog.

I found them 35+ years ago and have used them continually at work. They're still in excellent shape. I have no idea who made them or how they wound up in the ceiling of that hospital....

Mostly toners and probes left behind by Verizon techs in my world. I found a fairly expensive cable fault locator on the side of the road about ten years ago and picked it up. My wife shamed me into calling Verizon and turn it in. They never called me, so I just ended up putting it back at the spot where I found it.
