Anyone have a guide for configuring a system DID to accept only faxes and forward to another preexisting extension that has been configured to handle the fax and email it from the settings listed on that users extension under the "Mailboxes Menu -> Email settings tab? I tried, but I'm not getting the fax tone. Is there a setting I might have missed?

You don't have to use two mailboxes anymore like you used to have to with the Stratagy's. Just direct the DID to the vm pilot number with the users regular mb as the VMID. Then in Messaging under Mailbox properties, for the fax DID parameter enter the same fax DID digits the same way as it is entered in the PBX, and for the fax target, enter in the mailbox number you want the fax to go to.

I set it up the way you're saying, but when I enter the Fax DID: last four and save it, the phone picks up and will hang up...

Is this a new setup or do you already have fax working at this location? Is this an IPEdge PBX or just an app server connected to a Toshiba?

If it is an IPEdge PBX with SIP trunks, be sure the career support T.38. The IPEdge only supports T.38 for fax.

If it is not SIP trunks, or it is an App server connected to a Toshiba, then maybe something isn't setup correctly with the gateway..

thanks everyone. The COS was incorrect for a few extensions making the call hang up.
