Hi, it has been years since I programmed a Strata and I am trying to add 3 new digital DKT sets to a system that has 12 existing sets. I just need them to be programmed just like the rest of the sets nothing special. I was hoping for a COPY feature so i could copy one of the other extensions over to the new sets. When I connected them to the 66 block they display something like OPEN ( I think )but will not work. I tried to look up an installer manual but could not find one. Any help on activating these three sets would be great. Thanks!

Hello Phone Doctor,
It depends on how you are programming the system. If you are accessing the programing through a phone, then they don't offer a copy feature. If you are using software to program the system, Network eMamanger (the latest software), eManager, or WinCTX, then the software offers a copy feature for the specific feature group (basic, DKT, or Keys). The software connects to the CTX through a network interface, but on the CTX-28, the network adapter was an optional card on the processor. Some systems may not have a network connection.
If the phone is displaying anything on the screen, then it is functional with an extension number. If not, then the display would be blank. It sounds like the previous programmer even added the name "OPEN" to that extension. You should be able to get dialtone.

Yes thank you. I am programming from the handset. I am a Nortel Avaya programmer by trade. I have programmed a few Toshibas in the past. This is an animal hospital and they want all of the sets to ring the same. I tried to find some instructions online but could not. Do you have some programming instructions I could use to make sure the lines ring on the buttons this is all they really want these are just some extra handsets in the back office for the staff to answer calls on. Thank you!

Ringing is either done by setting the CO keys on the phone to ring, or by adding an extension into a multiple call group.
Probably the easiest way to find out is to call the main number and check out the phones. If the line keys flash green, then the phone's ringing is likely done by key assignments.
If the Line flashes red, but the Intercom key key flashes green, then the previous programmer is using a multiple call group.
This information probably does not help you without a programing guide, but I just wanted to pass this along.
I have usually been able to get by programing Nortel ICS or Partner without a guide by navigating the programing menus. Toshiba is very difficult to do through the phone without a manual.
