After years as a Norstar tech, I am now faced with this Intertel system. I have been had some power issues recently and would like to look at the system logs to see if I can find anything. I am having a difficult time understanding when I am in the Inter-tel DB Programming interface, how I view current and recurring logs. I see the ability to view error reports, however when I freeze the system and save the time stamps it spits out a bunch of files that I am not sure how to open. Is there a way to simply view system event logs either through the DB interface?

Thanks in advance!!! :bang:

What version is the Axxess? You can view the logs with notepad.

I have actually three systems. One is an Intertel 5000 ver 2.1, then two Axxess systems 9.0 and 10.0

The process seems to churn out several reports that are in a .chp, .dev, .dmp, .ndl

There was one notepad file, but it was not very informative. We had one of the systems go down, and when I try to view some event logs, that particular log starts when the system came back up.

Any thoughts?

The CPC cards unfortunately will dump logs upon reboot. The logs that you pulled are the ones that you need. The cph file is very informative however you need a converter to view it and wouldnt likely be of help in this scenario. The ndl is network diagnostics, probably not of much help for this scenario either. I believe the dmp shows software exceptions. You can view real time logs via diagnostics monitor.
