All;

I've got a 3 node Inter-Tel 5200 (v2.3.6.47) networked system. I seem to have issues with faxing and analog modems working across the network.

Several fax machines on Node 1 were working correctly untill ARS was implemented. Now (because of ARS)calls to certain area codes are being routed through Node 2 and Node 3 from Node 1 (This is what I want), but now faxes from my analog fax machines to these area are not connecting - I'm pretty sure this has to do with the fact that they are going across the network before going out. I've also got a modem that connects to several analog time clocks connected to the other systems - I've tried before, and it would never connect if it dialed the extensions of the time clocks directly, but would always connect if it dialed the DID of the time clock, and now because of ARS I'm back to square 1.

I've noticed several settings under:
node ip connection groups\NODE\IP Call
Configuration

Currently (I'm assuming default) all of the Fax Detection, Encoding, etc. settings have a red X. Does anyone know what the recommended defaults to enable faxing are?

I hoping someone can shed some light on what I need to configure to enable faxing and modem access across the network. :shrug:

Thanks,

You should be able to get faxing working. Modems are probably another matter.

Connect to all 3 systems. Make these changes to all systems. Go to System\IP Settings\Maximum Simultaneous Fax Over IP. Set this to '6'.

Go to System\Devices and Feature Codes\Node IP Connection Groups\First IP Group\IP Call Configuration\Fax Detection Sensitivty. Set this to 20.
Leave all else default. Test.
