I just set up a KX-T61610 in my house for an intercom. I would like to set up the night time programing, but I'm not sure if it's worth buying a phone for $50+ just to change the default 9 to 5 day (everything else is fine). I noticed that an eBay add that said that a KX-T7730 is a replacement for the KX-T7030. The 7730 can be found for much cheaper. Will it program the 616/308? Thanks in advance!

HI! Yes its got a display, but if you follow the manual and enter all the digits etc. carefully and store programming you can do it without the display telephone,, i believe there is a program switch in the ksu that you switch on. Boy those were the good days. Doh!

Yup it does have a program switch on the KSU which puts x10 in system programming mode. I remember forgetting to turn that switch off and left a customer's site, they couldn't use x10, had to turn around and go back just to flip the switch back! Much simpler days.

I've been able to set the time with a standard phone. How would I do the higher functions with a standard phone? All the programing charts use buttons on the program phone. Would they be replaced with the * or # keys?
