We have a OS 7100 at one of our remote sites and we are having problems getting the main greeting setup. When someone calls in they do not get our greeting the operator setup on her extension. We want all incoming calls to got to the operators voicemail.

You will need to look at the VM port activity screen to see where the call is going and why.

it shows its going to the main 1001. i am not sure how to redirect it to the operators extension.

If it's going there then there is no ext/mbx for the ext/group you are trying to send it to.
Do you want the operator ext or mbx?
You will have to put the required entry into the appropriate menu in the vm.

ok so i went into the area where you put the prompt. it was programmed for 1001 well for some reason i cannot get into the admin area to record. but when i program the 5061 it will tell me all staff is busy,and then say plase hold, then transfer to my operator and then do the recording. So i am a little closer but why can i not record a new greeting with 1001. when i press * it just exits, when i press # and 0000 it says invalid entry. Can anyone help please.

What software version is the system? If it's 4.8 you have to change the voicemail admin password from default to something else in system parameters or you can't access it without a VMADM key. Otherwise someone might have taken the # out for admin. I would just put a VMADM key on the phone you are working from and you should be able to get in no problem.

its 4.8 but i dont see any options to change the passcode to 1001?? I cannot get into the admin no matter what i do. if i do a factory reset and reprogram this all will this fix this??

It's in system parameters and no defaulting will not help you, you cannot access system admin with 4.8 software until you change the password or give a phone a VMADM key.
