I'm thinking of installing a couple of security cameras for my own use at home. Anyone have recommendations or experiences with any particular brands and models?
Requirements: outdoor, IR for night vision, record on movement, mobile app for android and iOS, decent cameras so I can see license plate in the drive (50 feet)and recognize faces (IP camera?). Prefer to stay away from home grade models, unless you think they're worthwhile.

I hate to highjack the thread, but I'd like to get some info too please. My situation is that I live in appt style condo, someone likes to drive by on reg schedule and dump trash on our property. I'd like an option of cutting off IR when needed. My current setup is use of indoor cam that doesn't get me close enough to read the plate good.

i have been installing a hybrid system that can handle analog , CVI and IP cameras if you would like more info email me at [email protected] for faster response. Our cameras have remote viewing from IPhone , IPAD or PC.
