When plugging in the Comdial phone to a Comdial phone system, it flashes a couple times. Then the line 1 keys light up and turn-off. The major problem is that the LCD display seems to work very little. It displays strange, truncated characters like the pound currency symbol along with #%@* and such...

Is there a fix for this? Like, a full firmware reset on this phone? Or, perhaps the display unit is burnt out!

Are you sure about that, isn't it maybe just something that replacing a couple capacitors could fix?

Probably the phone but you should at least try another port to see if the phone problem follows.
