Years ago I tossed all my 1A2 sets. Now I'm in need of two for a demo of the audio quality through the generations. Basically showing 1A2 has the best clarity and voip (in my humble opinion sucks) I did a google search and well $200 for a 5 line set seems a little steep. So if anyone knows a reasonable source I would be Grateful. TIA, John

You really want to get Western Electric or ITT sets that were manufactured prior to 1975. They used a potted network, meaning that the electronics were embedded in a goo that was intended to prevent corrosion. This also tended to soften the resonance from the transformer that interfaced the line with the handset.
I know it sounds whacky, but trust me. A potted 425- type network is the way to go when coupling with audio inputs.

I think you are being kind when you say voip sucks.
