Aloha,
A long time ago, I posted a question (<a href="https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?/ubb/get_topic/f/4/t/000939.html#000000">Intercom Not Available?</a>), and successfully implemented the change for hands-free intercom. Simple stuff. (Well... it is NOW. It's been a few days since then.)
Superfoneguy said "another trick is when you IC someone and they are not there, you can press your message key and you should forward to that persons voicemail box. There is some programming involved to set that up, so if that doesn't work, re-post."
I know that when I hit the MSG button, it tags the called phone with a callback message... but I would like to know what it takes to hit that same button, and be sent to the called extension's voicemail.
Anyone?
Thanks!

There are two settings that control what the message key can do on an intercom call. Go to:
System\Devices and Feature Codes\Stations\Specific Station\Associated Extensions\Message Center. This is the destination when a message key is pressed while attempting an intercom call. Typically it should be the voicemail pilot number.
System\Timers and Limits\Message Wait. This timer controls how long you wait after pressing yer message key before you forward to this person's message center. Be default it is 5 seconds. Change it to 2.
So now when you call this station and press yer message key and wait 2 seconds, you will forward to that person's voicemail box. If you press yer message key and hang up right away, you leave a station message.

Cool! Thanks!
Is there any way to program this specific to one extension, or a set of extensions, as opposed to globally?

Hm... I must be missing something. I made the changes, and pressed the message key... it goes to the voicemail system quicker, but the result is the same: it wants the vm password for the extension making the call, instead of just forwarding to the called extension's vm.
Am I missing a setting?
Thanks again.

This is a per station setting, you can do one, some or all.
You probably have the message retrieval application pilot nunber as the message center, not the voicemail pilot number. The message retrieval app asks for your password.

Well, there you go then.
Changed it to the appropriate number, changed the time out to 2 seconds.. and everything works like a charm.
Thank you so much!
