I have programmed many sVMi systems but never has a customer asked me to set up faxing. New customer is thinking the SVMi can act like a fax server to send/receive faxes over the LAN connection. Have read the manual but still not clear. Anyone have a "cheat sheet" as to how to set this up? I see a max of 4 ports can be used (licensed) but this is for analog. The customer seems to think he can send/receive faxes directly to an IP? Thanks in advance.

The SVMi20I doesn't support fax send that i'm aware of.
Fax receive via a license is direct to a mailbox on the card and you then setup email gateway to send it to your email.

I can understand how a fax can be sent to a mbox and then emailed to the mbox email address. The Document Librarian and Fax Blocks descriptions gave me the impression you could load all kinds of faxes into a "box" and then somehow send them out of the SVMi-20i. The description does not give any clue as to how it is done. Thank you for your response.

I know the vm is supposed to support fax back (ie you can store a fax and someone can dial in and request it).
Never set it up though
