HELP 15 years ago I installed a DHS 616 Now customer wants to add CALLER ID The Telco has had Caller ID on the lines for years. I installed the option module, and acquire a Caller ID 3 port box BUT Caller ID NOT working. I am using a gender changer in the KSU on the option module to the ribbon cable that goes to the Caller ID Box ANY Suggestions, Thank You in Advance.... tnx Norm 571 481 6980 you can also send reply direct to: [email protected]

The problem is that it is a DHS, not much you can do with that system. I suspect the option card could be bad but that 3 port caller id box is notorious for not working as well. If your customer wants caller ID I suggest they consider a new system such as the SBX or better yet a Summit.

I agree.. But the option card and caller ID box was ordered a couple weeks ago. So setting up Caller ID for the 1st time on this system I just wanted to make sure I had the connections and programming correct
Do the co go thru the ID box first with a splitter then back into the DHS? norm

They have to be wired in parallel not series, a splitter is not going to work. You need the documentation for the DHS and the caller id unit to have any chance of making this work.

In my experience, the Call ID option module is the part that is also most prone to failure. And resellers want too much for replacements.
