Hi,

I am a little curious on how my phone system hardware is set up. I have two NT box connect to the CPU card. I believe one PC is for Voicemail and the other is our Gateway PC to manage communication. I had a problem the other day when the Gateway PC went down. During this downtime, only the Inter-tel hardware and VM computer were up and running. I was able to receive calls, but what I noticed is that when incoming calls came through to any DID number assigned to voice application/recording. The application did not play the voice menu recording set up for it.

How does the Gateway PC affect the voice recording? Does the voice recording usually store on the same PC as the Gateway or on the VM PC?
Beside storing voicemail message and recording, what else the Voicemail PC is good for.

Thanks in advance.

My question is how is that possible when

Greetings/outgoing messages are in an r24 format and are stored on the Axxessory Talk (VM) PC. As for the question of, "what else is the Voicemail PC good for," I suppose that depends a lot on your style of administration. That PC could actually be used for pretty much anything. You could have your secretary type letters on it, but I can't imagine anyone with a tech background approving that. The only other thing we have the Axxessory Talks do is send the outgoing VM emails. Windows is unstable enough without risking the integrity of your offices phone system. It'll work find for the assigned task, but once you start loading instant messengers and letting the office staff play games on it, you're asking for a service call.
