I am working on a Comdial DX-80 and the CO lines have digitalish noise on them.
Extension to extension is fine, Extension to VM is fine. All extensions hear noise on CO lines.
(4) lines, (2) 8-port extension boards.
Noise on COs from both stations boards.
Since the CO lines are on the motherboard, would a CO board solve the issue do you think or would the motherboard or bus continue with the line noise?
Basically, if you press a CO line and press a digit so you can hear it better, the lines have a digitally scratchy, whiny rattling noise on them.

Check your voltages on the 4x8 board. If the +5 volts is off by more then .2 vdc or is not steady it needs to be repaired. +5vdc problems are pretty common on these units and its not improving as they age.

When testing power rails I'd also suggest putting your meter in AC volts mode. If the DC voltage rail has any AC component you know the power supply is malfunctioning.

I'm have the same problem on a customer that has a DX-120, loud on the Mother board CO and barely noticeable on the 4 port CO.
So the consensus is a power supply issue?
