2:30 AM in the morning, the door bell rings. The door bell is connected to my phone system and the every phone in the house rings however no one is at the door.(Pretty creepy right)?

It gets even more creepy. I ran to my security system review the time frame of the incident. The camera detected motion however there was nothing in the video that I could see. Then I noticed that the camera time code and it happen to jump about 1 minutes and 30 seconds. I have 10 camera around the outside of the house, I check another camera which also jumped during this time period and a 3rd camera went completely out during this time period.

My question is

1. Could a power surge of triggered the doorbell to ring on a phone system?
2. Could a power surge have caused a NVR( network video recorder) to skip ahead without recording?
3. Could a power surge have caused the other camera to go out for this time period.
4. Extreme coincidence that the NVR screws up during the Ding dong ditch attempt. Highly unlikely it would correspond down to the exact second of the ring I would think.

This is my primary and most plausible theory.
I don't think civilians or pranksters have equipment which can caused these type of things to happen? This would have to be NSA level stuff I am thinking.

I don't even want to think about the supernatural phenomenon option or else I won't ever be able to sleep again.

What do you guys think ?

Thanks

I think you should go back to sleep and ignore it. If it happens again, look into it.

Ask yourself: Why would the NSA or Space Aliens or whomever want to screw with me?

Then go back to sleep.

I think you should install more security cameras and put razor wire around the perimeter. Also stock up on ammo.

This is the political season, they're trying to stir up support to put a giant bubble over your area so they can brainwash the area into agreeing with asinine policies and promises they know they can't and have no intention of keeping. It seems to be working.

LOL....not helpful, guys.

A power surge or a sudden loss/restore can cause all the events you mention, even if you have a UPS on the equipment, unless it's a really beefy, sine wave output unit, which is much more expensive than the standard, simulated sine wave which causes a serious spike of a triangle wave when those types of power events occur.

If you don't have your equipment supplied with a UPS, then it's those recently discovered aliens that have been looking at earth for centuries. They just want to mess with you.

You really don't want to mess with the elevator inspector. That was just a warning...

I saw that one recently Dean. That's a good one, as most of those old ones are. And to the OP: better buy a roll of tin foil!
