need some help figuring out how to set up a conference call. I make my first call, person answers, I press conf, select another line and dial number, if I get a busy or that persons vm how do I get my first call back?

Line keys are solid green, never flash like they are on hold. get a busy tone if pressed.

From the op manual:
Hint:If the participant’s number is busy or isn’t answered, press [CONF] to reconnect to the conference. The next participant can be dialed, as needed.
I normally form a conf from hold, in other words I put my first party on hold and then get my second party before I press conf, then I pick my parties off of hold, but it may not work that way with all systems.
