Hello,
We have a KX-TD1232 phone system here at this location. All of the extensions were previously programmed by an installer. However, a remnant of the old programming was such that one of the extensions (x106) has outward dialing restricted. There is a dial tone, but they cannot make calls. As soon as they start dialing, it reports: RESTRICTED
The phone installer will not be back for several more days and it is important that this user get their outbound dialing working again. What is the sequence of steps to correct this? There must be an option in the programming for this.
Thanks

There is, it's called troubleshooting. If you don't have lines with dialing allowed assigned to the phone, it will be restricted, or it could be a class of service problem.
Both are beyond the scope of this forum to give you specific instructions to fix.

Thank you Carl,
I will have my telephone installer help me then. What is the purpose of this forum? is it for installer to installer help?

It's complicated :-) I don't know what you see, but at the very bottom of the forum list, there are 4 private areas, Pro Shop, Installers, Mods and Admins, plus the Telecom Lead service. Most of the board business is done in these areas and that's the B2B section.
The original intent of the top sections is to help an end user, or the casual visitor, but only to the extent of telling them something that's in the user manual. For example, if you knew anything about the Panasonic TD, you would be able to press PROGRAM 99 and each button and read that your lines were assigned to the buttons. If you came back and said, "my lines are assigned", then someone might contact you via PM and help you further. If you don't know the Installer password to the box, you aren't going to get into the part of the programming that affects COS where you can examine the program. In addition, one might opt to guide you for a nominal fee.
Since I've already logged 800 driving miles and 16 site hours in the first 4 days of this week and I have a full day Friday, I'm not inclined to do much else in terms of labor. I still have paperwork and billing to attend and that comes on the heels of a 50-hour week. I hope the billing fairy shows up soon :-)
