I have been told multiple times by NEC tech support that there is no way to monitor the activity on a NEC phone system live. I just have a hard time believing that I can log into an IDS phone system, we installed over 20 years ago, remotely and watch everything that happens on that system, but I am unable to do that with the new NEC I just installed. There has to be some way.
Is tech support correct, or has anyone figured out how to do this?

You can do a silent monitor of one extension and listen in. As for monitoring all extension activity live the only thing that comes close is the ACD package where you can see activity live on agent phones.

You might look into the Communications Analyst program. It states' Real-time inbound/outbound call monitoring as a feature.
