How's it going? I hope you're going to give me some leverage on this one...
My buddy and I are trying to configure IP phone 8622 so that it will work from home. We have Inter-Tel 9.100 system at our workplace. We tried giving it an ip, dhcp and it still didn't work. We opened up the required ports on our firewall and still nothing. Do you guys mind giving us a checklist on how to configure this device to work?
Thanks in advance.

What have you done on the phone system? Added an IP phone and the mac address of the phone? What does the phone say on its display when you connect it up?

PBX. There must be a NAT address associated with the IPRC. The firewall must have all of the associated ports open.
Endpoint. The endpoint must be programmed with the NAT address for the Remote IP.

Thanks for the help guys. We had to open few more ports and also input the NAT address in the system. It works great now. I do have another question (maybe two ) Is there a way where I can assign existing mailbox to new extension? Also, is there a way where I can call one number and both extensions would ring simultaneously? I know that I read somewhere that I would need to create hunt group, but I don't think I saw an option in there. I thought that was only for linear or by availability. Once again, thanks for the help. This forum rocks.

Yes you can assigning an existing mailbox to a new extension.
First you must delete the device associated with the mailbox. (Just set the port to none when configuring the ports in 'cabinets') What this does is unassociate the mailbox. Then go to the mailbox and change it's number to the new extension. This will associate it to the new extension.
Two get two extensions to ring simultaneously, creat a Hunt Group Extension List with both extensions in it. Theny make the Hunt Group Extension List the member in the hunt group.

Tellink,
Is there a way two extensions can have one-same mailbox?
And number two worked great. Thank you for helping us out.

Anyone?
BTW, I've got another one:
I have created a hunt group and added station extension list with two extensions so far. When I call a direct number that was assigned to the hunt group, it keeps ringing on and on w/out voicemail popping out. But when I call those two stations separetely by their assigned number, it goes to the voicemail after 4-5 rings. What's the deal?

When you ring a hunt group you are not ringing a particular extension. All forwards etc on the extensions are ignored and further routing is carried out via the timers and recall destinations asociated with the hunt group Originally posted by terminalxx: Anyone?

And number two worked great. Thank you for helping us out. Yes, creat a call routing announcemant. Delete the default announcement from the CRA and under Digit translation, change the timeout destination to 'xfer to mailbox XXX'. Then make that CRA the recall destination for the hunt group. Next, creat a new forward path with the hunt group as the forward destination and assign it to both stations. Set it up for immediate, all call types. That way a call to either station will forward to thethe hunt group and then to a single voicemail box.
